COVID deaths in Olongapo City rise to 239

OLONGAPO CITY—Three more patients in the city died of COVID-19, raising to 239 the total number of deaths due to the disease, city data showed on Friday (Sept. 24).

The latest to die were two senior citizens aged 66 and another patient aged 56. They all had existing ailments.

At least 42 new infections were also added to the city’s growing number of COVID-19 cases, which brought to 756 its active cases as of Friday.

Since 2020, Olongapo registered 4,972 infections but 3,977 of these had been listed as recoveries, or an 80 percent recovery rate.

Health care workers were also monitoring 126 suspected cases as of Friday.
