CITY OF CALAPAN — A magnitude 5 earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro before dawn Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The Phivolcs bulletin said the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 12:43 a.m., was located northwest of the town of Mamburao.
It had a depth of 11 kilometers.
According to Phivolcs, it was felt at intensity IV in this city; intensity III in Malvar, Batangas, and Tagaytay City; intensity II in Quezon City, Muntinlupa City, Batangas City and Calatagan, Batangas; Mauban, Mulanay and Dolores in Quezon and intensity I in Lopez, Quezon, Carmona in Cavite, and Plaridel in Bulacan.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the earthquake that lasted for a few seconds.
