Banal inquired about Corona’s dollar accounts, says PSBank manager Tiongson
MANILA, Philippines—“I will tell you if you will help us,” Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) Katipunan branch manager Anabelle Tiongson said, quoting Quezon City Representative Jorge Banal when he visited the bank and sought her assistance on documents about Chief Justice Renato Corona’s account.
Tiongson returned on Monday to the Senate impeachment court and was grilled by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.
In her testimony, she reiterated how Banal visited her on the last week of January this year and asked assistance about documents purportedly about Corona’s dollar accounts.
She said she declined to help because such documents were confidential.
Tiongson said Banal also asked her about the details of a raffle promo where a certain Renato Corona won but she said the record is no longer with them because it was a long time ago.
