Lawyers urge Mayor Isko Moreno to run for president in next year’s polls

Lawyers on Tuesday urged Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to run for president in the 2022 national elections.

MANILA, Philippines — Lawyers on Tuesday urged Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to run for president in the 2022 national elections.

Convenors of Bedan Lawyers for Isko urged Moreno to run for presidency, saying Moreno’s leadership brand and track record as mayor “can completely address the nation’s woes.”

“We believe that you are the leader who will bring about a responsive and responsible governance, and usher a new hope for our country,” the group said in a statement.

“We hope that you make yourself available to be the country’s next president,” the lawyers added.

Recently, a group of entrepreneurs have also urged the Manila mayor to run for presidential derby.

Moreno said he will run for 2022 elections, but is yet to announce the position he is running for.
