MANILA, Philippines – One of two suspected “motorcycle-riding robbers” was arrested by Quezon City Police District operatives of Station 4 in Novaliches Monday night, a police official said Tuesday.

QCPD Police Chief Superintendent George Regis identified the suspect as John Allen Berdol, a 19-year-old security guard and resident of 200 Bartolome Compound, Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City.

QCPD Station 4 Commander Police Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo said the victim, Ariel Domingo, 23, of No. 50 Anthony Street, Barangay (village) Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City, was walking near Uniwide Department Store when the suspects aboard a motorcycle allegedly grabbed his bag and held him at knife-point.

The police came shortly after the suspects fled with the victim’s bag containing his wallet and cellphone. They caught up with one of the suspects and recovered the bag, as well as the weapon used by the suspects.

Robbery-hold up charges are being readied against Berdol while his companion was still being hunted down by authorities.
