Eastern Visayas COVID cases set highest record in one day

ORMOC CITY—The Department of Health in Eastern Visayas on Friday (Sept. 17) recorded the region’s highest single-day tally of COVID cases since the pandemic started in 2020.

At least 436 cases were reported on Friday following results of tests from several labs in the region.

As of Friday, Eastern Visayas has 2,322 active cases. Since the start of the pandemic, the region had 45,388 cases with 42,581 recoveries and 485 deaths.

Ormoc City has the most new cases with 48, followed by Tacloban City with 45.
