Olongapo mayor tests positive for COVID-19

OLONGAPO CITY––Mayor Rolen Paulino announced Friday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, Paulino said he underwent a real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test Thursday at the city’s newly opened molecular laboratory in Barangay Kalaklan, which confirmed his infection.

Paulino, who had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, said he was in good condition and would continue discharging his duties.

It was not immediately known where the mayor contracted the virus.
