PECANDELA trounces Los Demonyous

PECANDELA Law Firm led by Mark Russ Gamallo trounced defending champion Los Demonyous of Bads Del Prado in overtime, 104-96, last Saturday at the start of the 8th Season of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-2012 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario Street.

Three other teams scored victories as Bhutakalz nipped Pañeros, 66-64, while the aging Primos-Rama team crushed the younger Jodin cagers, 66-51. The Eagles of Kit Enriquez also routed Dissenters of Jonas Asis, 82-53.

Pecandela banked on the 28 points of Tommy Yu and the 19 of Sam Malazarte to pull off the rout.

Venju Santiago led Bhutakalz with 16 points against Peñeros.

Giovanni Sususco, meanwhile, led the Primos with 15 points while Al Limalima added 13.

In the last game, small forward Marvin Miralles and Ian Santos led the Eagles to a lopsided win by scoring 15 and 13 points, respectively. /pr
