2 MSU students shot dead inside university campus in Marawi
MARAWI CITY—Two students were shot dead by unidentified men inside the Mindanao State University (MSU) campus in Barangay Cadayonan II here past 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14.
Omar Maruhom Zainal, 23, an engineering student and Hamza Rauf, 24, a student of the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Spear), were on their way to their dormitory when two unidentified men on board a black motorcycle without plate number suddenly appeared and shot them several times, according to the police.
Both students were residents of Baloi town, Lanao del Norte.
Col. Christopher Panapan, director of Lanao del Sur police, said the victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds on their bodies.
Police investigators also found five empty shells from the crime scene. The police were still trying to track the identity of the suspects and the motive for the killing.
