Tagbilaran couple arrested in buy-bust operation

Police arrested three persons here on Wednesday night (Aug. 11) for possession of a gun and several sachets of crystal meth or shabu, but only after a chase in the sea.TAGBILARAN CITY—Authorities arrested a couple and seized over P1 million worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Dampas here on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bohol and the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Bohol Provincial Police Office arrested live-in partners Cyril Jon Pamaong, 25, and Charesma Peñaranda, 21.

Pamaong is a listed high-value individual and is included in the “target list” of the PDEA and the police.

Authorities recovered during the operation 23 packs of suspected shabu weighing around 150 grams with an estimated value of P1,020,000.

They face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
