MANILA, Philippines — Some 1.5 million more doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine procured by the national government were delivered to the Philippines on Friday.

The vaccines aboard a Philippine Airlines flight arrived around 6:40 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2, as shown on a livestream by state-run PTV.

The jabs were welcomed by the National Task Force against COVID-19 special adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa.

Earlier this Friday, the country received 502,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine procured by the private sector and local government units via a tripartite agreement with the national government.
