87% of Bicol cops now inoculated against COVID-19
LEGAZPI CITY––Eight out of ten police personnel in Bicol have received their anti-COVID-19 jabs, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said Friday.
Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police director, said 9,592 policemen or 87 percent of the 11,000 police force in the region had been inoculated fully or partially with the China-made Sinovac or the British-made AstraZeneca vaccines.
The PNP Regional Health Service data showed that of the vaccinated policemen, 6,743 had their first dose, while 2,849 policemen got their second jab.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, police Bicol spokesperson, said Friday that 603 police personnel in the region contracted COVID-19 since March last year. Of these, 21 remained active while the rest had recovered, except for one who died. INQ
