Woman hurt in San Fernando strafing

AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman was wounded when her house was strafed  in barangay Tubod, San Fernando town, southern Cebu.

Rosalie Empil was sleeping with her partner Floriano Benetiz Umbay, 26, when their house was peppered with bullets.

The assailant was not identified and the motive of the attack remains unclear . Empil was shot in the leg. Neighbors of the couple told police that a man was seen running away from the house after the burst of gunfire.

Police recovered four slugs of a .45 pistol in the  house.  PO1 Junel Figura of San Fernando police said the couple had no known enemy in the barangay.

Empil was rushed to the Minglanilla District Hospital then moved to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
