CARNAP SUSPECT CHARGED

A MAN is facing trial for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth P118,000.

Cedric Roble, 21, of Danao City, was charged in court for violation of  Republic Act 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Law.

Bail was recommended at P180,000.

Roble was arrested by police after a habal-habal driver saw him taking the motorcycle of Mark Cabillon last Feb. 14.

Cabillon used to be Roble’s boss when the accused was still a habal-habal driver.

The complainant had parked his motorcycle outside his residence in Cebu City.

When the police went to Roble’s house in Danao City, he was seen dismantling the missing  motorcycle.

Roble did not  file a counter-affidavit. The  proseuctor filed the case  before the Regional Trial Court./REPORTER ADOR VINCENT S. MAYOL

CORN GRITS CAUSES HEAVY TRAFFIC

TRAFFIC was stalled for several hours at the South Coastal Road in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City after sacks of corn grits fell from a truck.

The right lane  became impassable because of the  corn grits  scattered on the ground. It took at least four hours to clear the road.

The truck, owned by Alen Trucking Company, was headed for Minglanilla town.

Truck driver Pedro Andolana  said one of the wheels exploded, causing the truck to tilt on its side.

The trucking complany  sent its workers to the site to help clear the road./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

MAN MAULED, STABBED

A 26-YEAR-OLD man was mauled and stabbed by three men in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.

Milky Manango, a native of Masbate, sustained bruises and a stab wound in the back.

His alleged attackers, Eleuterio Cleopas Jr., 22, Anton Bonghanoy and a certain Genio fled after the incident.

Police said Manango came from a beerhouse and was walking home when he met the three men along a road at dawn yesterday.

Police said an argument broke out between Manango and the three men. There was a fistfight and  Manago was overpowered.

One of the men stabbed Manango before they escaped.
