LUCENA CITY – Classes in public and private schools as well as work in government offices in Quezon have been suspended on Wednesday due to inclement weather spawned by  Severe Tropical Storm Jolina.

Governor Danilo Suarez, in his Memorandum Order No. 268, said all online and modular classes in all school levels are suspended

A copy of the order was posted by the Quezon Public Information Office on its Facebook page around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Work in all government offices in the province is also suspended except in agencies involved with public health and safety, Suarez added.

He said suspension of work in private companies, businesses and financial institutions shall be under the discretion of its management.

Jolina made landfall in the island province of Marinduque early Wednesday morning after crossing the southern portion of Quezon on Tuesday.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is still up over Quezon province including the Polillo group of islands.

Lucena City Mayor Roderick Alcala also suspended classes and work in government offices Wednesday.
