Over 500,000 residents in Ilocos region fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

LAOAG CITY—The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, Sept. 7, said at least 533,457 residents belonging to the five priority groups in the Ilocos region have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Those on the list of A1 priority group, or health care workers, have the highest coverage of fully vaccinated individuals at 96,390, far exceeding the target of 87,409, the DOH said.

Around 134,646 of the 547,788 target senior citizens (A2 priority group) and 62,817 of the 128,158 target persons with ailments (A3 priority group) have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.

While 17,130 of those in the A4 priority group, or essential workers, are already fully immunized, the DOH added.

The DOH in the Ilocos region also said it had started the vaccination under the A5 priority group or those who belong to the “indigent population” wherein at least 1,287 doses of the vaccines were administered.

Around 222,093 doses of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 vaccine were also used to inoculate residents among the priority groups.

So far, vaccination facilities across the region had administered a total of 1,168,536 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, according to the DOH. INQ
