Severe Tropical Storm Jolina weakens further; Signal No.1, 2 up in parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Jolina has weakened further as it crosses the Sibuyan Sea on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa, the eye of “Jolina” was last spotted 60 kilometers (km) West Northwest of Masbate City, Masbate or 90 km East of Romblon, Romblon

The tropical storm continues to move west-northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour (kph), with maximum sustained winds of 100 kph near the center, gustiness of up to 125 kph.

Heavy to intense with at times torrential rains should be expected in the next 24 hours over Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Southern Quezon, Romblon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Aurora, the rest of Calabarzon and Western Visayas.
