Over 15 million Filipinos vaccinated against COVID-19 – Palace
MANILA, Philippines — Over 15 million Filipinos have already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Malacañang said on Monday.
In a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said 15,033,354 individuals have already been fully vaccinated in the country as of September 5, 2021.
Meanwhile, over 35.8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered, 20.8 million of which given as a first dose.
Since February, the Philippines has received over 52.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses.
This figure includes jabs procured by the government and donated by the COVAX facility and other nations.
Article continues after this advertisementThis September and October, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. has said 54.5 million more COVID-19 vaccine doses are expected to be delivered in the country.
Article continues after this advertisementIf supply permits, Galvez said the COVID-19 vaccination program may open to the general population by October.
As of this time, the government has prioritized the vaccination of medical workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, economic frontliners and indigents.
