MANILA, Philippines — Cavite is set to receive five million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the national government from September to December, Governor Jonvic Remulla said Thursday.

In a Facebook post, Remulla said testing czar, Secretary Vince Dizon, also the deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force against COVID-19 gave his assurance that five million doses of coronavirus vaccines from various manufacturers will be delivered on separate dates.

“May firm commitment na po si Sec. Vince Dizon na sila ay magpapadala ng 5 million doses mula sa iba’t-ibang vaccine brands or manufacturers,” Remulla said.

At least one million doses will be delivered to Cavite this September, while the rest will be sent progressively until December, Remulla said.

Based on the report of the provincial government of Cavite as of September 1, the province has so far administered 1.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses. A total of 428,151 have been fully vaccinated.

Cavite is part of the bubble of the National Capital Region Plus, but Remulla earlier claimed the province had only been receiving a trickle of the vaccine supply despite its proximity to Metro Manila.
