MANILA, Philippines — A total of 703,000 doses of US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrived in the country on Wednesday night.
The plane carrying the 600,210 vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 at around 9 p.m. But before coming to Manila, the plane had unloaded 51,480 doses in Cebu at around 6:30 p.m., according to the National Task Force against COVID-19.
The plane will then go to Davao on Thursday to deliver 51,480 doses.
This is the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines to arrive in the country this month.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the Philippines is expecting to receive 25 million doses in September and 29.5 million doses in October.
