4 mild quakes hit Visayas
MANILA, Philippines—Four mild earthquakes hit the Visayas region on Saturday, the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology said.
The first quake occurred at 12:47 a.m., a 2.9- magnitude quake, 36 kilometers southeast of Sipalay, Negros Oriental.
No damage or injuriew were reported but aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said.
The second quake, a 2.6-magnitude quake of tectonic in origin, struck 88 kilometers northeast of Albuera, Leyte, at 9:24 a.m. It was felt at Intensity II in Burauen and Albuera, Leyte.
At 9:25 a.m., a 3.3-magnitude quake was recorded seven kilometers southwest of Buruaen, Leyte. It was felt at Intensity II in Burauen and Albuera, Leyte.
Meanwhile, a 3.7-magnitude quake with tectonic origin was reported 11 kilometers southeast of Mabinay, Negros Oriental at 10:35a.m. It was recorded with Intensity III, and was felt in Tayasan, Negros Oriental; and Intensity I, and was felt in Iloilo City.
