SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) prohibits people again coming from areas under the two most restrictive quarantine classifications from entering this free port starting Wednesday, Sept. 1.
In an advisory, the SBMA said the border protocol was based on the latest resolution from the national inter-agency task force (IATF).
The IATF has retained the modified-enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) status of the National Capital Region and other areas.
According to the SBMA, people coming from these areas and those under enhanced community quarantine would not be allowed entry to the free port.
The border protocol also covers residents from nearby Bataan province that is under MECQ until Sept. 7.
But non-resident free port workers, SBMA employees, and those coming here for essential purposes were exempted from the restriction.
SBMA has been enforcing tighter restrictions at its gates depending on the latest IATF resolutions on travelers.
