MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Luzon will experience cloudy and rainy weather on Tuesday as the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) remains the dominant weather system in the country, the state weather service said.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, Bicol Region and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

“In the next 24 hours, mataas ang tiyansa ng pag-ulan sa Cagayan Valley Region, Aurora, Quezon, buong Kabikulan, kasama na din ang Apayao at Kalinga, dahil sa Intertropical Convergence Zone,” said weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz.

(In the next 24 hours, there is a high chance of rains in Cagayan Valley Region, Aurora, Quzon, the entire Bicol including Apayao and Kalinga due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone.)

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have a fair weather condition, although there will still be chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

“Improved weather ang inaasahan sa Southern Luzon, kasama na ang Metro Manila,” Dela Cruz added. “Patuloy pa din makakaranas ng magandang panahon ang malaking bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao.”

(The weather has improved in Southern Luzon including Metro Manila. Visayas and Mindanao will likewise experience fair weather.)

Dela Cruz also said that there are no weather disturbances being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for the next two to three days.

Pagasa, meanwhile, said that no gale warning was raised in any of the sea waters nationwide as the rest of the country is expected to have a slight to moderate sea condition with 0.6 to 2.1 meters of waves.
