Several Cebu City policemen were reprimanded for not wearing complete uniforms during a surprise inspection yesterday.
One policeman in the Pasil station with the rank of senior inspector was jabbed in the chest by Senior Supt. Louie Oppus for this offense.
The policeman, who was in civilian attire, said he was about to go home and changed into street clothes while waiting for his reliever.
The answer didn’t satisfy Oppus, the assistant regional director.
Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB), wouldn’t confirm the incident and only said policemen not wearing complete uniforms were scolded.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man walking home with a friend was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding perpetrators in barangay Linao, Talisay City, last Sunday dawn.
Arnel Malinao Sigundino was shot in the head and face.
He was walking home from a benefit dance when he was attacked, said PO3 Mikie Espina, Talisay police investigator.
Police said the backrider got off and fired twice at the victim while his friend, Manuel Caparida, ran for his life.
PO3 Espina said witnesses came forward but the gunmen remain unidentified. A personal grudge could be the motive of the crime, he added. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL BONJOC
