Son of ex-city councilor gunned down in San Jose del Monte

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE — The 38-year-old son of a former city councilor and a school owner in this city was shot and killed on Friday night, police said Saturday.

Police Colonel Julius Alvaro, San Jose del Monte police chief, said Samuel Española, son of ex-Councilor Teddy Espanola, was walking in front of their house and school in Teachers Village Area H., Barangay (village) San Rafael when armed men aboard a white van suddenly stopped and shot him several times at around 8 p.m.

The suspects sped off towards Barangay Fatima.

Alvaro said they are now conducting an investigation to determine the motive of the killing.

They are reviewing the footage from security cameras in the area for possible identification of the suspects.
