TAGBILARAN CITY – A drive-through COVID-19 vaccination site in this city was opened at the city hall grounds on Saturday, August 28, to accommodate more persons who want to be inoculated against the coronavirus.
Among those who lined up at the vaccination site were tricycle drivers, overseas Filipino workers, and other residents of the city.
Dr. Jeia Pondoc, city health officer, said the drive-through vaccination drive would speed up the city’s vaccination program.
As of Saturday, Pondoc said at least 40,000 residents of Tagbilaran were fully inoculated.
Mayor John Geesnell Yap II encouraged residents to get vaccinated to achieve a COVID-free environment.
As of Friday, Bohol has 1,545 active cases of COVID-19.
Tarcisio Sempron, 67, and a resident of Tamblot Street, Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City, was happy to get inoculated against the virus.
“I like the drive-through vaccination. It’s quick and fast,” he said.
