In a bizarre incident, a man cut off his own penis and threw it out the car window while being chased by police in Tennessee in the United States.
Tyson Gilbert, 39, allegedly heard “voices” from the radio telling him to do it to “save the world,” as per radio station WJLE yesterday, Aug. 26.
Gilbert led the police in a two-county chase after he was reportedly approached by Trooper Bobby Johnson, who had spotted his car parked partially in the roadway.
“When I pulled up behind him and turned my lights on he took off and refused to stop. He was all over the road the whole time. He turned off on Old Liberty Road and came to a stop. He opened his door. He was naked and covered in blood. He then shut his door and kept driving,” Johnson was quoted as saying.
Johnson recalled that police put down several spike strips to slow down Gilbert before eventually catching him and transporting him to a hospital, according to the report.
Gilbert is said to also have arrest warrants for other offenses in Cookeville. It was not disclosed if he was under the influence of any substance during the chase. Ian Biong /ra
