Robbers strike in Badian town

TWO lending collectors and three sales agents lost cash and valuables in robberies that took place within a span of an hour in Badian town, south Cebu.

Police said the robberies took place iast Thursday in separate barangays of the town.

Five victims gave similar accounts of being surprised by two motorcycle-riding robbers who shouted at them “tulis ni. ‘yaw pag langas (This is a hold-up. Don’t.)”

In barangay Poblacion, Dave Gregorio, 32, a worker of BLB Finance Lending Corp., lwas robbed of his cellphone and P7,000 cash in an eatery.

Jessie Jayno, 32, of Reynaldo Lending based in Dumaguete City, was robbed while doing a round of collection in barangay Matutinao. He said P10,00 and a cell phone were taken from him.

Gabriel Espiritu, 32, of Wet Gold Company in Mandaue City, was robbed in the same barangay and lost P5,000 cash.

In barangay Balhaan, Vernon Sabal, 31, of Rebisco Company, was driving a company vehicle when two armed men flagged him down. Balhaan said P6,000 was taken from him.

Also in Balhaan, Eric Torrano, 39, of Fiber World Company, told police that two men flagged down his vehicle and held him up. He said he lost P16,000 in the robbery./ CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
