26 more Central Luzon cops get COVID-19

OLONGAPO CITY—The Central Luzon police has recorded 26 new COVID cases among its policemen in the last two days, regional police data showed on Tuesday (Aug. 24).

At least 23 of the new cases were logged on Monday (Aug. 23) while the other three were added to the list on Tuesday.

So far, the Central Luzon police still has 156 active infections in its workforce, including non-uniformed personnel, according to the regional police health service.

Since 2020, the Central Luzon police has registered 2,209 COVID-19 cases but 2,048 of these were recoveries. It reflected a 92.7-percent recovery rate.

Its death toll still stood at five with no new fatalities in recent weeks.
