SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The operation of the rural health unit of San Marcelino town has been suspended indefinitely after some of its workers tested positive for COVID-19, officials said.
According to the RHU, the suspension started on Monday (Aug. 23) to allow all its employees and health workers to undergo quarantine and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests.
The RHU management has directed residents, especially those who work outside the province, who need to get antigen tests to temporarily get tested for free at the border checkpoint in nearby Subic town.
The provincial government has been requiring its residents, especially those working outside the province, to present negative antigen tests at the borders when returning home.
San Marcelino has 66 active COVID-19 cases out of its 347 confirmed infections since last year. INQ
