OLONGAPO CITY–The local government of Olongapo City has started inoculating some essential workers under the A4 category of priority list as it continues its mass vaccination program to achieve herd immunity.
According to the city health office, the essential workers were among the 1,500 eligible recipients of the vaccine that were given their first shot on Monday.
It was the first time that the city included essential workers in the list despite a limited supply of vaccine coming from the national government.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said about 10 percent of the target 260,00-population of the city have already been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The city has been administering Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and the single-dose Janssen vaccines made by Johnson & Johnson. INQ
