2 more senior citizens die of COVID-19 in Olongapo City
OLONGAPO CITY—Two elderly women in this city have died of COVID-19 complications, raising to 182 its number of deaths related to the viral disease, local health data showed on Tuesday (Aug. 17)
According to the city’s task force, the two latest fatalities were aged 72 and 80.
At least 17 new infections were also recorded in the city on the same day, including five senior citizens.
So far, the city has 354 active COVID-19 cases out of the 3, 339 infections recorded since last year.
But 10 more patients have recovered from the disease on Tuesday, pushing to 2,803 the city’s total number of recoveries. It reflected an 83.9-percent recovery rate, which was a drop from the previous 84 percent.
