LUCENA CITY––A motorcycle rider died on Wednesday after his vehicle collided with a van along the Maharlika Highway in Calauag town in Quezon province.
Quezon police reported that Francisco Pago Jr. was driving his motorcycle when an Isuzu Elf van sideswiped him in a curved portion of the highway in Barangay Lungib around 8:30 a.m.
Pago died while being taken to St. Peter General Hospital in the town center.
The police said the van covered the opposite lane and consequently hit the oncoming motorcycle.
Van driver Rhey Veen Somera was placed under the custody of the police while the investigation continues.
