MANILA, Philippines — The distribution of cash aid to those affected by the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Laguna and Bataan provinces will start sometime this week, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said in the taped weekly briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte that aired late Monday night and lasted until early Tuesday.

According to Año, the government has allotted P700 million for Bataan and P2.7 billion for Laguna in cash aid.

The two provinces are both under ECQ — Bataan from Aug. 8 to 22 and Laguna from Aug. 6 to 20.

Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, which is under ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20, the cash aid distribution is already 29.31% complete.

Año said the government had distributed about P3.2 billion to 3.2 million beneficiaries. This is out of the P11.2 billion total funds allotted for the cash aid for Metro Manila.
