MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has administered a total of 27,806,881 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the national vaccine manager, said Monday.
The total number of inoculated Filipinos represent 17.73 percent of the country’s eligible population and 11.40 percent of the total population, Galvez said.
Of the total vaccinations, 15,241,864 individuals have already had their first dose and 12,556,017 their second dose.
“For the month of August, we administered 7,326,831 doses. This is an upscale from our record in July. In 15 days, we have already accomplished half of our 15 million target for this month, ” Galvez said.
Galvez added that Metro Manila had already inoculated 6,354,901 of its eligible population, or 66.16 percent, with their first dose of the vaccine and 4,054,275, or 42.21 percent, with their second dose.
According to him, vaccine allocation will also be ramped up in the Davao Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Caraga, among others.
