Angeles City logs 73 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths

ANGELES CITY – Some 73 more residents here have contracted coronavirus which causes COVID-19 while five more have died due to the same viral disease, the city government here disclosed on Sunday, Aug. 15.

It said the new fatalities were residents of the villages of Balibago Pandan, Sapalibutad and Sto. Domingo.

The new cases on Sunday include 16 residents of Balibago, 10 from Pandan, eight from Cutcut, seven from Pulung Cacutud, six from Sto. Cristo, five from Pulung Maragul, four from Anunas, three each from Capaya, Sta. Trinidad and Tabun, two from Salapungan, and one each from Cuayan, Cutud, Margot, Mining, Ninoy Aquino and Pulung Bulu village.

Data showed that the city also recorded 19 new recoveries on the same day and its active cases stood at 770 as of Aug. 15.

To date, a total of 8,156 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the city since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 7,031 have recovered, while 355 have died.
