Earlier, the country again posted the highest single-day increase in cases with 14,249 new infections, pushing the active case count to 98,847.

According to the DOH COVID-19 bulletin, the current active case count represents 5.7 percent of the total confirmed cases.

There were also 11,714 recoveries recorded, pushing the total recovery count to 1,598,314.

The DOH reminds the public to continue observing health protocols to contain the spread of COVID-19 as cases and the number of deaths continues to rise.

The DOH said that while all laboratories were operational last August 12, four labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.

The four laboratories that did not submit data accounted for 3.4 percent of all the samples tested, and 2.8 percent of all the positive cases, the DOH said.
