The Quezon City government has expanded its community care facilities to accommodate children infected with COVID-19, together with their families and guardians.
On Friday, Dr. Esperanza Arias, head of the city health department, explained that all of the city’s 11 Hope facilities would be equipped with additional beds, oxygen tanks and medicine, as well as “family rooms” where the children and their guardians could stay.
The City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit said 318 of the COVID-19 cases recorded in Quezon City between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7 were children aged 17 and below. —Meg Adonis
