IATF lets senior poll bets file candidacies in person

Senior citizens above the age of 65 who want to run for public office next year will be allowed to leave their homes to file their certificates of candidacy (COCs) from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

The IATF said these senior citizens would be considered authorized persons outside of residence during the period for the filing of COCs.

They would be allowed to leave the house regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not and regardless of the quarantine classification in their area, it said. —Leila B. Salaverria
