5 Olongapo cops test positive for COVID-19

OLONGAPO CITY—Five policemen in this city contacted COVID-19 and were immediately isolated, officials said Friday, Aug. 13. The five virus-infected policemen were among the 98 active cases of the Philippine National Police in Central Luzon. The health service of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said they recorded eight new COVID-19 cases among its personnel on Friday. At least 2,064 PNP personnel have been infected by COVID-19 since last year, but 1,961 of them had been cleared, including the 10 new recoveries on Friday. The PRO3 had logged five deaths related to the disease, but no new fatalities were added in the recent weeks.
