One Hospital Command Center also handling non-COVID concerns

MANILA, Philippines — The public may also contact the One Hospital Command Center, the country’s COVID-19 referral facility, for non-COVID concerns like pregnant women going into labor and other health emergencies needing admission to a hospital.

“Hindi lang po puro COVID ang hinahawakan naming mga kaso,” One Hospital Command Center medical officer Marylaine Padlan said Friday in a televised briefing.

(We don’t exclusively handle COVID-19 cases.)

“‘Yung mga malapit nang manganak or in labor na mga mommies, na-rerefer na rin po namin yan sa mga hospital, mga inatake sa puso, marami na rin po kaming nahawakan kahit mga patients na may psychiatric needs or even yung mga may injuries, may findings na fracture hinahanapan rin po namin yan ng hospital at health facilities na pwede po tumingin sa kanila,” she added.

(We’ve also referred to hospitals mothers going into labor, those who suffered a heart attack, we’ve also handled patients who have psychiatric needs, injuries, fracture, we also help them find a hospital or health facility that may accommodate them.)

The One Hospital Command Center was established last year to refer the public to medical facilities that still have the capacity to accommodate COVID-19 patients.

Those in need of a medical facility may contact One Hospital Command via contact numbers 0919-977-3333, 0915-777-7777, and (02) 88650500.

Recently, the referral center has been receiving over 300 calls from Metro Manila alone as the country experiences an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections.
