‘Shabu’ worth P136K seized in Pampanga

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region III (PDEA-3) arrested five suspects and confiscated some P136,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation Thursday in Barangay Dau in this city.

PDEA-3 director Bryan Babang said Edwin Deotoy, 52; Ruben Garcia, 51; Jimmy Del Monte, 43; Eduardo Tuazon, 61; and Jomelhyn Dungca, 36, were arrested in an alleged drug den along Roxas Street.

Twenty grams of shabu worth P136,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects, he said. The marked peso bill used in the sting operation was also recovered.

Babang said they would file charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the arrested suspects.

On Aug. 9, PDEA-3 agents also raided two suspected drug dens in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, and arrested 12 suspects, who allegedly yielded some P204,000 worth of shabu.

The suspects were identified as Genesis Abecia, 27; Carlo Liwanag, 37; Raymond Garnica, 28; Christian Arnado, 25; David Tonido, 53; Jayrum Ocab, 22; and Janine Velara, 33.

Some 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000 and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects.

In another drug den, PDEA-3 agents arrested Joevannie Ongcal, 25; Ana Marie Ferrolino, 39; Dindo Lequigan, 29; Rita Cayetorres, 21; and Lorie Aquino, 45.

PDEA-3 said 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000 were allegedly seized from the suspects. INQ
