'Drug trader' from Tarlac nabbed in Nueva Ecija

ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija — An alleged drug trader from Tarlac province was arrested here during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday (Aug. 11), police said.

Suspect Jesus Marcos, 40, was caught with P30,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during the operation in Barangay Sto. Rosario Young at 6:20 p.m., said Maj. Jaime Ferrer, municipal police chief.

Ferrer said Marcos tried but failed to escape after selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover agent.

Seized from Marcos were four sachets containing the illegal drugs, Ferrer said.

Investigators also recovered from the suspect the two P500 marked bills, a mobile phone and drug paraphernalia.

Ferrer said the buy-bust operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
