Active virus cases in Olongapo rise to 303

OLONGAPO CITY— At least 41 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the city on Wednesday (Aug. 11), raising to 303 its active infections, local data showed.

The latest virus figures were among the city’s highest in recent weeks.

One of the new virus-infected patients is a 3-year-old boy from Barangay New Kalalake, records from the local task force showed.

So far, the city has already recorded 3,165 COVID-19 cases since last year.

At least three more patients have already been cleared of the disease on the same day, but the city’s recovery rate further dropped from 85 to 84 percent in the last three days.

The city’s COVID-19 death toll still stood at 174, with no additional fatalities on Wednesday.
