5 Army troops among new COVID-19 cases in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Five Army soldiers based in this province have tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the five patients were assigned to Barangay Pinagrealan in Candelaria town.

Bueno said the soldiers had no travel history outside the province, but could have been exposed to a COVID-19-positive patient.

They were among the 40 new COVID-19 cases in the province that also include three nurses and a police officer in Castillejos town.

Of the 4,640 patients recorded in the province since last year, 451 are still sick. At least 4,057 of these patients have recovered, while 132 have died. INQ
