TANODS HONORARIA

CEBU City Councilor Augustus Pe Jr. proposed that the honorarium of tanods be processed every month for faster release.

Pe said he got complaints that the release of funds was delayed or sometimes released on a quarterly basis.

Discussion on this started when Councilor Edu Rama Jr. presented a resolution that authorizes the release of P46.8 million from the city’s aid to barangays’ account for the honorarium of tanods for January to December.

Rama said the honorarium be increased from P1, 000 last year to P2, 000 this year.

He said pocessing of honorarium was done on a quarterly basis but added that it would be best if barangay treasurers can release the amount monthly. /Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac

THE Lapu-Lapu city government approved P1million as financial assistance for the Negros Oriental government.

Mayor Paz Radaza, who heads the Lapu-Lapu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, said the aid would be channeled through the Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Office. /Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
