Talisay task force closes Nacario Trade Center

/ 08:03 AM February 17, 2012

VENDORS of the padlocked Nacario Trade Center continue to do business and defy the Talisay city government’s order to stop selling their goods there.

The vendors despite the GI sheet placed by the Talisay city government task force to close their stalls continue to sell their goods.

Rene Cabillon, Nacario Trade Center employee, said the task force arrived at the private-owned market and closed the stalls even without presenting papers.

But Arturo Bas, Talisay public information officer, said the court allowed the city to close the stalls without business permits.

Bas also said that they were only implementing the city ordinance that prohibits another market to operate within a kilometer radius from the public market. The new Lagtang public market is about 500 meters from the NTC. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
