SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—Three Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) employees and a resident in this free port have tested positive for COVID-19, the agency said on Monday (Aug. 9).
The new infections raised to 29 the active COVID-19 cases in the free port community.
In an advisory, the SBMA said three of the latest to get infected with COVID-19 had displayed viral disease symptoms. They were either on home quarantine or taken to a health facility.
The SBMA also said a 51-year-old resident here who contracted the virus on July 24 has already been cleared of COVID-19 after undergoing 14 days of quarantine.
To date, the free port has logged 361 infections among its residents, SBMA employees and transients since last year.
But at least 322 of them have been healed from the disease, reflecting an 89-percent recovery rate. INQ
