CEBU CITY––Due to the rising COVID-19 cases, at least 11 towns and cities of Cebu province will be placed under modified enhanced community quarantine with heightened restrictions starting Wednesday, Aug. 11.

These localities include Samboan, Sibonga, Argao, Cordova, Oslob, Liloan, Minglanilla, and Consolacion. Joining their classification are the component cities of Talisay, Carcar, and Naga towns.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has yet to issue an executive order to harmonize what should be done or avoid during this period.

A meeting between Cebu’s officials and the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force is ongoing as of this writing, although some mayors have already made announcements on Facebook about their new quarantine statuses.

Cebu province, which has six component cities and 38 municipalities, is under general community quarantine with heightened restrictions.
