Pampanga’s capital urges residents to use double face masks vs Delta variant
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– The City of San Fernando has recommended using double face masks to avoid getting infected with the COVID-19 Delta variant.
In an advisory on its Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 9, the city government asked residents to comply with minimum health standards against the Delta variant.
The city government said two face masks offer better protection, along with wearing face shields and maintaining physical distancing.
On Monday, San Fernando recorded 41 new COVID-19 cases, 10 recoveries, and one death. The fatality was a resident of Barangay San Jose.
The city registered 6,516 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 5,641 have recovered, while 209 have died.
Mabalacat recorded on Monday 43 new COVID-19 cases, 10 recoveries, and one death. The fatality was from Barangay Lakandula.
